Product Description:
The M-605-A-B1-B2 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied under the M Goldline Servo Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop motion tasks in industrial automation, where it delivers precise shaft torque and speed on demand. A spring-applied electromagnetic brake rated at 48 N·m and powered by 90 VDC secures the load during power-off states, allowing vertical axes or suspended mechanisms to remain stationary without external clamping.
The stator develops a continuous shaft torque of 30.1 N·m while drawing a phase current of 19 A rms from a three-phase bus rated at 230 VAC. When operated at its base speed of 2150 rpm, the motor produces up to 6000 W of mechanical power, making it suitable for medium-frame indexing tables and packaging lines. These ratings are supported by a winding inductance of 13.3 mH and a DC resistance of 0.51 Ω, which establish the electrical time constant and influence current-loop tuning in the drive. A torque constant of 1.584 N·m/A rms links commanded current to produced torque, simplifying gain calculations for position servos. Six magnetic poles on the rotor determine the electrical frequency required to reach the mechanical speed reference.
A peak stall torque of 86.4 N·m supports transient overloads during acceleration bursts, and a back-electromotive-force gradient of 95.78 V rms/krpm indicates the voltage generated as rotational speed increases. The laminated steel hub has a reflected inertia of 0.0141 kg·m², balancing rapid velocity changes with vibration damping in coupled loads. Heat generated in the windings travels through a thermal impedance of 0.28 °C/W. The assembly reaches thermal equilibrium after a 33-minute thermal time constant, permitting predictable duty-cycle modeling during continuous service. Brake torque remains independent of coil temperature, ensuring consistent holding performance throughout the motor’s operating range.
