Serving as a rotary actuator, it converts commanded current from a servo drive into tightly controlled motion for indexing tables, gantry axes, material-handling spindles, and similar positioning systems. It is suited to machines that need repeatable starts, stops, and holding at standstill between cycles. An integral electromagnetic brake, governed by a 24 VDC supply, keeps the shaft locked during power-off conditions, while the attached encoder adds only 29.7 mm to the motor length so overall machine envelopes stay compact in dense machine layouts.

In continuous operation, the stator windings draw 6.4 Arms and develop 6.8 N-m of stall torque during steady-state use. The copper network presents 2.60 ohms of direct-current resistance, so at rated load the generated I²R losses stay within the housing dissipation capacity. At that current level, the electromagnetic structure can momentarily generate 19.8 N-m of peak torque, enabling fast indexing or quick tension corrections before thermal limits intervene. The current-to-torque gain remains linear at 1.11 N-m/Arms, which simplifies proportional control loops during these transients and helps the axis respond predictably to changing load demands. A sealed construction certified to IP65 blocks dust and water jets, allowing use on packaging lines or machining cells exposed to coolant mist without requiring a separate protective enclosure around the motor. This sealing also helps protect internal parts in wet production areas.
