The LSM165-221-454-M-0KA is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied through the LSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It is intended for industrial automation tasks that require accurate torque, allowing a drive controller to regulate shaft motion for gantries, packaging lines, or coordinated multi-axis stages. An embedded multi-turn absolute encoder transmits position data to the drive, so the motor can retain its exact position after a power cycle. Because this version is supplied without a brake, holding torque must be provided externally whenever power is removed.
Under a continuous load, the unit delivers 25 Nm without exceeding its thermal limit. When commanded to accelerate light loads, the rotor can reach 4500 rpm, providing short indexing times. The motor has a torque constant of 0.91 Nm/A, allowing each ampere of phase current to produce almost one newton-meter of shaft torque. Thermal losses are influenced by a phase resistance of 0.33 ohm, while current regulation dynamics are shaped by a winding inductance of 3.6 mH. The eight-pole rotor works with a voltage constant of 109 V/krpm, matching the motor to standard 400 V class servo drives. The shaft end uses an M10 × 1.5 mm thread cut to a depth of 22 mm for secure coupling to gearheads or timing pulleys. This threaded interface provides positive axial retention when the selected coupling is installed with compatible hardware. The motor housing provides a rigid mounting structure that helps preserve shaft alignment under changing radial and axial loads.
