Product Description:
The LSM130-78-454-S-0KA is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the LSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It serves as the rotary element of a closed-loop axis, converting programmed current into shaft rotation for positioning, indexing, or speed-regulated tasks on automated machines. When used with a matching drive, the unit supplies controlled torque for responsive motion in material-handling, packaging, and assembly equipment. Its brushless design supports precise electronic commutation without the mechanical wear associated with brushes.
This motor operates from a three-phase 460 VAC supply and provides a continuous torque of 8.8 Nm while remaining thermally stable. At standstill, the drive can command a peak current of 10.7 A, while dynamic events may draw up to 50.9 A peak without exceeding the rated insulation limits. Output speed is electronically regulated up to 4500 rpm, and the back electromotive force constant is 107 V/krpm, allowing compatible Kollmorgen inverters to track velocity throughout the operating range. Position feedback is provided by a single-turn sine-cosine encoder, which supplies analog signals for high-resolution position interpolation. The stator windings have an inductance of 8.46 mH and a resistance of 1.68 Ω, both of which affect current-loop response and resistive heating.
A peak torque capacity of 38 Nm supports brief acceleration demands and disturbance rejection without magnetic saturation. Torque generation follows a constant of 0.88 Nm/A, which supports accurate drive-controller gain calculations. The rotor inertia is 0.00041 kg·m², enabling rapid speed reversals while maintaining high servo stiffness. A keyway shaft supports positive engagement with a coupling, and the shaft end has an M8 × 1.25 mm thread cut to a depth of 19 mm for secure attachment. The motor weighs 10.0 kg. Because it is supplied without a brake, an external mechanism or drive-applied torque must hold the axis when required.
