Product Description:
The LSM100-46-454-E2-0KA is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the LSM Brushless Servo Motors series. The compact frame pairs with high-performance servo drives used on assembly robots, pick-and-place units, and material-handling axes. By converting three-phase AC power into precisely synchronized magnetic fields, the motor generates tightly regulated shaft rotation for accurate positioning and speed control throughout industrial automation cells. Standard flange dimensions facilitate direct coupling to gearboxes or timing pulleys, while the sealed housing keeps airborne contaminants away from the internal magnetic circuit.
The motor provides a continuous torque of 5.2 Nm without thermal derating under steady operating conditions. For short transients, it produces a peak torque of 16 Nm, allowing the axis to overcome static friction or cycle heavier loads. The rated shaft speed of 4500 rpm provides the nominal operating velocity used to select suitable mechanical transmission ratios. A torque constant of 0.88 Nm/A indicates how much torque is produced per ampere and supports current-loop control by the drive. The unit belongs to the 460 V voltage class, enabling long cable runs while keeping conductor size moderate. Its eight-pole rotor, inertia of 0.00017 kg-m², and factory-cut keyway support smooth acceleration and secure power transmission.
The motor can draw a maximum phase current of 21.2 Apk during dynamic events, while its 6.4 Apk stall current supports torque production at zero speed. A back-EMF constant of 106 V/kRPM helps the controller account for the voltage generated as motor speed increases. The winding inductance of 12.44 mH influences the electrical time constant and helps limit current ripple. With a winding resistance of 3.9 Ω, the motor maintains moderate copper losses during operation. Incremental position feedback is supplied by a 2000-line encoder, and the motor does not include a holding brake, so drive torque or an external mechanism must retain static loads when required.
