Product Description:
The LSM100-35-454-S-0KA is a rotary motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the LSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It is intended to deliver precise position and velocity control in automated pick-and-place stations, indexing tables, and similar motion axes where closed-loop accuracy is required. High-resolution Sin/Cos feedback on the stator supplies the controller with fine incremental data for smooth interpolation and accurate motion control.
The motor can sustain a continuous shaft load of 4.0 Nm, providing continuous torque without exceeding the thermal limits of the winding. A top speed of 4500 rpm lets the drive stage command fast moves while maintaining servo stiffness. During dynamic cycles, the inverter may supply up to 22.6 A of peak current; matching cables and fuses must accommodate this demand. A torque constant of 0.86 Nm/A links commanded current to output torque, simplifying current-mode control. The unit is wound for the 460 VAC class, so it pairs directly with compatible high-voltage drives and reduces the current required for a given power level. Additional electrical characteristics include a phase inductance of 16.8 mH and a phase resistance of 5.9 Ω, both of which influence current ripple and heat generation.
Transient demands are supported by a peak torque capacity of 16 Nm, providing a 4:1 overload margin for acceleration or disturbance rejection without demagnetizing the rotor. Locked-rotor operation can impose a stall current of up to 5.0 A. The rotor inertia is 0.000144 kg·m², enabling rapid acceleration during dynamic motion. Back EMF is characterized by a voltage constant of 103 V/kRPM, so the selected drive must provide adequate headroom under regenerative conditions. Mechanical integration is aided by an M5 × 0.8 mm threaded hole with an engagement depth of 12.5 mm. The motor has a mass of 5.3 kg, which facilitates handling during machine assembly.
