Product Description:
The LSM100-35-454-E2-2KA is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the LSM Brushless Servo Motors series. As a rotary actuator for industrial automation, it converts regulated drive current into controlled shaft torque. This operation allows positioning tables, feeders, and packaging axes to follow precise motion profiles while the connected servo drive regulates speed, torque, and position.
The unit delivers 4.0 Nm of continuous torque while operating within its rated temperature range. During rapid acceleration, it can reach 16.0 Nm of peak torque, providing additional force for overcoming load inertia. The rotor can spin at up to 4500 rpm, supporting speed-dependent applications such as winding and indexing without exceeding the motor’s mechanical limit. Electrical compatibility is based on a nominal supply of 460 V, matching suitable three-phase Kollmorgen drive systems. With a torque constant of 0.86 Nm/A, each ampere of phase current produces a predictable amount of shaft torque for current-loop control. The drive may supply up to 22.6 A peak for brief acceleration demands, while the stall current is limited to 5.0 A peak.
The integrated holding brake operates at 24 VDC and prevents unwanted shaft movement when motor power is removed, which is useful for retaining vertical loads. The brake increases the motor’s total mass to 6.1 kg. Position feedback is provided by an optical encoder with 2000 lines per revolution, producing 8000 counts after quadrature decoding for closed-loop position control. Dynamic response is supported by a rotor inertia of 0.000174 kg·m² and an eight-pole magnetic arrangement, allowing quick velocity changes without excessive drive effort. The stator winding has an inductance of 16.8 mH and a resistance of 5.9 Ω. A 14 mm shaft transmits torque to the connected coupling, while the back-EMF constant is 103 V/kRPM.
