The MCD0300256001 is a magnetic way component manufactured by Kollmorgen for the ICD Ironcore Direct Drives series. Installed as the stationary part of an iron-core linear motor, it supplies the continuous permanent-magnet field that the forcer coil uses to create thrust. This track is used where a compact, flat profile and repeatable force generation are required in material-handling slides, high-speed pick-and-place heads, or multi-axis gantry systems.

The track has an assembly width of 55.0 mm, providing lateral space for the iron core while still fitting inside narrow machine frames. Its overall length of 255.3 mm sets the single-section travel and can be expanded by butting additional segments together. Stack height is controlled by the total height of 8.25 mm, which limits the air gap and helps maintain consistent magnetic flux. For suspended or cantilevered axes, its linear mass of 2.70 kg/m helps size supports and minimize deflection. Each segment contains a mounting-hole diameter of 4.7 mm drilled through the base, which is suitable for M4 screws when clamping to an aluminum subplate. The hole pitch across the width is 45.0 mm, matching Kollmorgen forcer standards and simplifying alignment. A total of 8 holes are pre-machined along the length, allowing uniform clamping pressure without additional machining. The cover is fabricated from Stainless Steel, giving corrosion protection in humid production areas while remaining non-magnetic so it does not disturb the field. Additional layout features include a base height of 4.0 mm, counterbore pockets 1.6 mm deep by 8.3 mm in diameter, and two locating-pin holes that support repeatable drop-in assembly during service.
