The M.1015.8017 is a brushless AC servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the HSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It converts drive current into controlled rotary torque for precise position and speed regulation in packaging machines, gantry axes, and similar industrial equipment. An integral spring-applied holding brake helps motion axes remain stationary after motor power is removed, which is particularly useful for suspended or vertical loads. Electronic commutation eliminates brush wear and allows the connected servo drive to regulate torque throughout repeated motion cycles.
The motor provides a continuous shaft output of 39.5 Nm, supporting sustained operation under a steady mechanical load. Momentary overload torque reaches 70.1 Nm to accommodate acceleration and short periods of increased demand. Its maximum operating speed is 2000 rpm, establishing the upper velocity limit for operation within the motor’s thermal capacity. Torque rises in proportion to current according to a torque constant of 0.94 Nm/A.
