The HSM610 is a brushless servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the HSM Brushless Servo Motors series. The model provides closed-loop rotary actuation in industrial automation, where it works with a matched drive to position conveyor sections, indexing tables, or tooling heads with high repeatability. By combining permanent-magnet excitation with sinusoidal commutation, the motor converts electrical current into controlled shaft torque across a wide speed range while requiring little maintenance.
The motor produces a continuous stall torque of 11.30 Nm, allowing stable holding or slow-speed regulation without overheating. During short-duty surges, it can produce a peak torque of 25.42 Nm at speeds up to 3000 rpm. Dynamic response is aided by the rotor inertia of 0.0014 kg·m², which minimizes acceleration lag and supports rapid changes in speed. Back electromotive force develops at 82 V/krpm, indicating how the required drive voltage rises with motor speed. The motor has a damping coefficient of 0.10 Nm/krpm and a friction torque of 0.14 Nm, both of which affect servo-loop tuning.
