Internal Product Review
The H42HCLT-LNK-NS-00 is a Kollmorgen hybrid motor built in a NEMA 42 frame with heavy-duty NEMA mounting. From a motion-control standpoint, the 1.8-degree step angle and ±1.5% step accuracy support clean indexing and dependable positioning. A 1580 oz-in holding torque rating makes the unit a strong choice for low-speed torque applications.

Product Description:
The H42HCLT-LNK-NS-00 stepper motor is produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the H Hybrid Motors series. It is intended for position and velocity control in automated indexers, gantries, and process lines, where discrete step operation simplifies closed-loop tasks. Its hybrid construction combines permanent-magnet and variable-reluctance principles to deliver precise incremental rotation without an external encoder.
Its NEMA 42 frame establishes a large mounting footprint for heavy-duty brackets. With 1580 oz-in holding torque, the rotor resists back-drive when the phases are energized but motionless. Each phase draws 4.0 A, and together with the 39.2 mH phase inductance, this winding behaves like a high-inductance motor. The motor advances 1.8 degrees per full step, giving 200 positions per revolution with step accuracy of ±1.5%. A 4-lead series connection routed through a System MS connector supports high-impedance wiring, and the dual-stack rotor supports strong low-speed output. Standard construction with a heavy-duty NEMA face completes the mechanical interface, while phase resistance is 1.62 Ω, which limits copper losses during dwell.
The motor supports radial loads to 140 lb and accepts an axial thrust of 400 lb, allowing direct coupling to lead screws. A smooth shaft reduces fretting at the interface, and rotor inertia of 0.16 oz-in-s² helps the motor respond quickly during starts and stops. Thermal behavior is set by a 1.3 °C/W thermal resistance and a Class B, 130 °C insulation system, along with 100 MΩ insulation resistance and a 340 Vdc dielectric rating. The ambient range of -20 °C to +40 °C suits unconditioned panels, while a mass of 18.2 lb helps with heat dissipation and vibration damping. The heavy-duty mount also supports stable installation on larger machine assemblies.
