Product Description:
The H42HCFB-LNK-NS-00 hybrid stepper motor is produced by Kollmorgen within the H Hybrid Motors series. This two-phase device converts digital pulse trains from an indexer or PLC into precise angular increments for conveyors, pick-and-place heads, and light gantries. By merging permanent-magnet rotor construction with reluctance stepping, it supplies positional control without the cost of closed-loop feedback.
Its frame matches the NEMA 42 outline, so the square face measures 4.188 inches and aligns with heavy-duty NEMA mounting provisions. Inside, the rotor develops 1600 oz-in of holding torque, enabling tables or slides to stay fixed when power is removed. Two stator stacks and a smooth shaft support moderate moment loads, while the bearings tolerate 400 lb axial and 140 lb radial force. Class B insulation withstands 130 °C; leakage to ground remains below 100 Megohms, and coil dielectric strength is verified at 340 Vdc. Power exits through a System MS connector that brings out an 8 lead cable, allowing series or parallel wiring to adapt motor electrical constants. Step accuracy is ±1.5 %, and the rotor advances 200 full steps per turn.
In parallel connection each phase draws 9.8 A and presents 0.27 Ω with 6.8 mH of inductance; wiring the same coils in series lowers current to 4.9 A and raises impedance to 1.07 Ω with 27.2 mH, which eases drive voltage requirements. The rotor inertia is only 0.16 oz-in-s², so commanded speed changes can be met quickly. Motion resolution is fixed at a 1.8 degrees step angle, giving 200 discrete positions per revolution and supporting microstepping overlays if finer positioning is required. Reliable performance is maintained from -20 °C to +40 °C, and the insulation system, smooth shaft, and standard construction all conform to Kollmorgen guidelines for heavy-duty industrial service.
