Product Description:
The M.1015.7886 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the FSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It is designed to deliver closed-loop speed and torque control in automated machinery such as indexing tables, packaging axes, and material-handling gantries. By combining an electromagnetic stator, a permanent-magnet rotor, and an integral power-off holding brake, the motor converts electrical drive output into mechanical rotation that can be controlled precisely by a motion controller.
The brake can clamp the shaft with a holding torque of 31.1 Nm, and its torsional play is limited to 29 arcmin to maintain positional accuracy while the axis is at rest. During dynamic operation, a Ke voltage constant of 85 V/kRPM indicates the back electromotive force developed per unit of speed, allowing the drive to calculate torque in real time. The rated speed reaches 3000 rpm, with the limit governed by rotor balance and winding insulation. The stator is wound for 230 VAC line-to-line power, and each phase has an inductance of 1.7 mH, providing adequate filtering of the pulse-width modulation carrier while supporting fast current loops. The radial bearing load capacity is 61.7 kg at 1000 rpm, while the electromagnetic torque constants are 0.70 Nm/A with sine excitation and 0.80 Nm/A with square excitation.
Power-off retention relies on a brake coil that draws 1.30 A DC from a 24 VDC supply. Continuous armature heating is influenced by a phase resistance of 0.26 ohms measured at 25 °C. Magnetic coupling is produced by a rotor with 8 poles, and its inertia of 0.011 kg-m² affects acceleration profiles when the motor is paired with the intended load. The housing has a length of 390 mm, including the brake assembly. Thermal conduction to the surrounding air is represented by a thermal resistance of 0.37 °C/W, which helps establish the allowable duty cycle without supplemental cooling.
