The EB-102-A-11-B3 is an explosion-proof brushless motor built by Kollmorgen within the EB Explosion Proof Motors series. Designed for hazardous-location machinery, it delivers closed-loop torque and speed to pumps, mixers, and conveyors while containing any internal ignition source. The frame integrates a 3/4-14 NPT conduit entry so power, brake, and feedback wiring remain sealed, and its 609 mm factory leads simplify connection inside classified enclosures.

The magnetic circuit employs four poles that let the rotor reach 7500 rpm at rated load. Thermal sizing gives a continuous phase requirement of 2.4 A RMS; beyond that, the copper temperature rises toward the 40 °C stall rating of 0.84 N·m. Short acceleration bursts can draw 7.2 A RMS and produce 2.41 N·m of peak torque, so drive electronics must tolerate that current for the specified duty. At standstill and 25 °C, the motor delivers 0.89 N·m, a figure used when holding loads during indexing cycles. The 6.80 Ω line-to-line resistance establishes voltage drop, while 30.0 mH of inductance filters ripple current from high-frequency inverters. This electrical combination affects how quickly current builds in the windings during drive control.

Output power is rated at 0.54 kW, attainable when the controller supplies up to 250 Vrms on the three-phase bus. A back electromotive force constant of 20.9 Vrms/kRPM links speed to generated voltage, assisting the drive in sensorless detection if feedback is lost. The torque constant of 0.35 N·m/A RMS allows current-loop tuning for proportional force delivery across the full speed range. Brake engagement is triggered with 24 VDC, providing static holding when mains are removed. With its explosion-proof housing, integral conduit thread, and stated peak limits, the motor supports precise motion inside Class I, Division 1 production cells.
