Product Description:
The E41HCLA-LNK-NS-01 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by Kollmorgen for the E Hybrid Stepper Motors series. This two-phase unit converts input pulse trains into discrete angular motion for positioning tables, indexing stations, and other open-loop automation axes. It integrates into heavy machinery through its NEMA frame and provides constant incremental torque without requiring feedback devices, giving machine builders a straightforward option for moderate-speed, high-load moves.
The square frame conforms to the NEMA 42 standard and withstands an axial thrust of 400 lb through its output shaft. Holding torque reaches 1380 oz-in at a phase current of 5.3 A. Electrical response is governed by a phase inductance of 10 mH and a phase resistance of 0.64 Ω, allowing compatible drives to account for current rise during pulse shaping. A System MS connector and four-lead series wiring simplify hookup, while a heavy-duty NEMA face handles direct-mounted loads. The bearing set accepts radial loads of up to 140 lb. A thermal resistance of 1.8 °C/W helps keep the Class B insulation within its 130 °C limit. Continuous operation is supported from -20 °C to +40 °C, and SIGMAX construction minimizes detent ripple at low speed.
The 1.8-degree full step provides 200 steps per revolution with an accuracy of ± 1.5%, allowing predictable repeatability in open-loop operation. A single rotor stack, a rotor inertia of 0.080 oz-in-s², and smooth-shaft machining support quick acceleration without keyway imbalance. Insulation integrity is supported by a resistance of 100 MΩ at 500 V and a 340 VDC withstand rating for overvoltage events. A positive shaft seal blocks contaminant ingress. The motor has an overall mass of 10.9 lb, allowing use on gantry-mounted axes while providing substantial mass for vibration damping.
