The E31NRFA-LNN-NS-00 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by Kollmorgen within the E Hybrid Stepper Motors series. It provides discrete, open-loop position control for indexing tables, metering pumps, and other automation axes that do not require closed-loop feedback. By combining permanent-magnet torque with reluctance torque in a single rotor, the unit converts command pulses from a drive into incremental mechanical motion.

The motor is built on a NEMA 34 frame and measures 3.38 in across the lamination stack, allowing direct substitution into standardized mounting patterns. A SIGMAX laminated rotor with one stack and a NEMA mounting flange keeps detent torque low while preserving stiffness. Eight flying leads are supplied through the regular lead-wire connection style, so parallel, series, or unipolar wiring can be selected during installation. With a step angle of 1.8 degrees, the rotor advances in fine increments that support smooth indexing. The motor is rated for 200 steps per revolution, and this mechanical resolution is maintained within a step accuracy of ± 1.5 %.

Electrical insulation is rated Class B 130 °C, and insulation resistance is 100 Megohms when measured at room temperature. The coil system can withstand up to 340 Vdc without dielectric breakdown, enabling use with high-bus drives while maintaining safety margins. Continuous service is specified for ambient conditions from -20 °C to +40 °C. A single, smooth shaft transmits torque directly to couplings or timing pulleys, and the mounting flange follows the NEMA standard to maintain concentricity. Internal SIGMAX construction reduces magnetic leakage, while the laminated rotor limits eddy-current losses during dwell periods.
