Product Description:
The E22NSFB-LNF-NS-02 hybrid stepper motor is produced by Kollmorgen for the E Hybrid Stepper Motors series. As a two-phase actuator, it indexes machine axes in packaging, labeling, and light material-handling cells without requiring the feedback devices used by servo systems. The drive controls movement by sending a precise sequence of current pulses to the two motor phases. This open-loop arrangement reduces wiring complexity in closed, repetitive moves where the applied load remains within the available torque range.
Its round housing measures 2.25 inches across and follows the NEMA 23 mounting pattern, allowing the frame to bolt directly to standardized brackets. Each electrical step advances the rotor by 1.8 degrees, and one complete revolution consists of 200 discrete positions for moderate-resolution positioning tasks. The Class B insulation system rated for 130 °C protects the windings against elevated operating temperatures. Coil safety is supported by an insulation resistance of 100 megohms, which limits leakage current between conductive parts. The stator windings withstand up to 340 VDC during dielectric testing. SIGMAX construction uses concentrated magnetic flux paths and skewed laminations to improve torque linearity while maintaining consistent shaft height within the frame.
The motor operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 °C to +40 °C, allowing installation in unconditioned industrial facilities that remain within these limits. Positional repeatability stays within ±1.5% of a commanded step, making the motor suitable for pick-and-place nests that tolerate limited step error. Because no feedback device is fitted, the drive counts command pulses to estimate the shaft position during operation. Two rotor stacks share a laminated core to increase incremental torque without requiring a longer housing. Eight color-coded leads permit series or parallel coil connections, allowing the windings to accommodate voltage- or current-optimized drive configurations. A smooth shaft transmits motion through clamping couplings and avoids the concentrated stress associated with a keyed connection. The magnetic circuit and laminated rotor also provide detent stiffness that resists unintended shaft movement when winding current is removed.
