The E22NRFC-LNN-NS-00 is a hybrid stepper motor produced by Kollmorgen within the E Hybrid Stepper Motors series. In motion control systems, it converts discrete command pulses from an open-loop drive into incremental rotary positioning, providing reliable index moves without a feedback device. The motor follows the NEMA mounting pattern, allowing straightforward installation in pick-and-place platforms, small gantries, and other automated stages that rely on step accuracy instead of closed-loop servo feedback. This operating method is well suited to applications that prioritize repeatable positioning and simple drive integration.
Mechanically, the frame diameter is 2.25 in., and the housing conforms to the NEMA 23 size envelope so it can replace similar steppers on existing brackets. Internally, SIGMAX construction, a laminated rotor, and two magnetic stacks increase torque density while helping reduce detent ripple. Regular leadwire terminations route eight conductors out of the case, and the insulation system is rated Class B, 130°C with an insulation resistance of 100 Megohms and a dielectric withstand of 340 Vdc. These ratings support thermal and electrical durability during extended duty within the specified ambient range of -20 °C to +40 °C. Because there is no feedback transducer, the motor is typically paired with open-loop microstepping drives, and position retention at standstill comes from inherent detent holding torque.
The eight outgoing leads form a configurable 8 lead scheme, enabling series or parallel phase wiring to match different bus voltages. This gives the motor flexibility when it is integrated with different drive topologies. Each electrical step advances the shaft by 1.8 degrees, producing 200 discrete positions per mechanical revolution, and cumulative positioning remains within +/- 1.5 % of the commanded angle. The single, smooth shaft is delivered without a shaft seal, making it suitable for clean, dry enclosures where minimal axial loading occurs. The output arrangement also works well with common couplings and pulley-driven motion assemblies.
