The Kollmorgen DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 is a brushless DC servo motor designed for demanding servo applications. When used with Kollmorgen servo amplifiers, the motor is suited for positioning tasks in industrial robots, machine tools and transfer lines. The motor uses permanent magnets for the rotor. The motor does not used brushes as the commutation is performed electronically by the servo amplifier. The motor winding is monitored by temperature sensors in the stator windings. A multiturn encoder is used as the feedback element. The feedback is used by the servo amplifier to evaluate the motor position and supply sinusoidal currents to the motor. The DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 does not feature a holding brake. Ordering and retrofitting a holding brake is not supported. The DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 is enameled in matte black which does not offer protection against solvents.

The DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 is a standard motor with 55-millimeter flange size. The connectors for the power and feedback are angle connectors that are rotatable. The DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 features a smooth shaft without keyway or key. The housing of the DBL2H00040-03M-DD0-S50 is IP65 rated with shaft seal. The standstill torque and standstill current ratings of the motor are 0.4 Nm and 0.91 Amps respectively. The motor can be operated at 230 Volts AC or 400 Volts AC.
