The DBL5N01700-03S-000-S40 is a brushless servo motor developed by Kollmorgen for the DBL Synchronous Servomotors series. Designed for closed-loop motion axes in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and other high-cycle machinery, the unit converts electrical power into precise rotary torque that can be controlled by a Kollmorgen drive or a compatible third-party controller. By combining the compact stator construction of the DBL platform with rare-earth magnets, the motor supports rapid acceleration while maintaining the position accuracy required in industrial automation.
Rated for indoor machine enclosures, the motor operates within an ambient temperature range of +5 to +40 °C. An ingress protection rating of IP54 protects the stator against limited dust intrusion and water spray, while a molded cap prevents direct contact at the feedback connector. The square mounting interface has a 142 mm flange that allows the frame to align with compatible IEC gearheads. A smooth shaft supports low-backlash torque transmission through clamp or shrink-fit hubs. The rotor is supplied without a holding brake, so standstill loads must be retained by drive torque or an external clamp. The motor uses the standard mechanical length code and a standard-speed stator winding to balance torque density with thermal performance. Power and signal connections are angled toward the B-side to reduce the installation depth required behind the motor.
Electrical termination is provided through compact connectors that simplify cable installation and help preserve shielding integrity. Rotor position is returned through an integrated encoder, allowing the connected servo drive to regulate position, speed, and torque in a closed loop. The motor can operate at up to 95% relative humidity, making it suitable for indoor installations where condensation may occasionally occur. Position data use a single-turn feedback format, which provides an absolute position within one mechanical revolution and reduces the amount of position information stored by the drive.
