Product Description:
The DBL4H00530-BR2-000-S40 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen in the DBL Synchronous Servomotors series. It supplies controlled rotary motion for precision axes in automated machinery. The motor converts electrical energy into repeatable torque and speed profiles for coordinated positioning and process control applications.
This motor uses a 105 mm square mounting flange and sealed connectors that exit at an angle on the B-side, simplifying cable routing within the machine. The rotor has a 2-pole construction, and feedback is supplied by a single-turn resolver that reports the rotor position within each mechanical revolution. This feedback arrangement supports responsive closed-loop control without requiring complex electronics inside the motor. A factory-installed holding brake engages mechanically whenever power is removed. Its brake torque of 5 Nm helps prevent shaft drift on vertical or suspended loads. The housing has an IP54 rating, and an additional contact guard on the feedback connector reduces the risk of accidental contact during service. The motor also uses a standard lamination length and normal orientation, with no custom mechanical extensions.
The winding and grease system supports operation at temperatures from +5 to +40 °C. It also tolerates air containing up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, making the motor suitable for common plant-floor operating conditions. A smooth shaft supports direct coupling through friction or clamp hubs, eliminating the stress concentrations associated with a keyway during high-cycle operation. The high-speed winding has lower electrical resistance and inductance, allowing the drive to reach elevated rotational speeds before field weakening becomes necessary. The holding brake secures stationary loads when motor power is unavailable, while the resolver supplies the feedback needed for controlled motion when the axis is active. Sealed, angled connectors keep the power and feedback cables close to the motor body and help prevent excessive bending near the connection points.
