The DBL4F00530-03S-00K-S40 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the DBL Synchronous Servomotors series. It serves as a compact rotary actuator that converts drive current into repeatable torque and speed for packaging lines, material-handling gantries, or coordinated multi-axis machines. Integrated electronic commutation keeps the rotor synchronized with the commanded profile, allowing accurate positioning while reducing mechanical wear often associated with belt or gear transmissions. Its design supports decentralized installation close to the load, shortening cable runs and improving servo-loop stiffness.
Operation is permitted from 5 to +40 °C, covering normal factory environments. The IP54 enclosure resists dust and light water spray. Because the motor is supplied without a holding brake, static loads must be held by the drive or an external clamp. A square 105 mm flange matches IEC medium-frame gearheads. Position data is delivered by an integrated encoder for accurate velocity control. The housing has a standard length, and detachable connectors on the rear simplify cable routing and connection. A shroud over the feedback plug protects the contacts from accidental handling when the connector is not attached.
The power and feedback plugs are angled toward side B, allowing the cables to clear adjacent machinery while maintaining the required bend radius. The rotor transmits torque through a shaft with a keyway, enabling secure attachment to pulleys or rigid couplings without relying on friction alone. Inside the feedback device, the code disc is single-turn, so the encoder reports a unique position within each mechanical revolution. For storage or intermittent use, the motor tolerates up to 95% relative humidity without condensation. Its standard configuration does not include custom sealing or winding modifications. The rear connector arrangement also keeps the leads away from the output shaft and connected equipment, reducing the chance of interference with rotating components.
