Product Description:
The DBL3M00190-03M-S40 is a rotary servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the DBL Synchronous Servomotors series. The unit combines permanent-magnet rotor technology with high-resolution feedback to drive axes that demand tight speed regulation and accurate positioning. In an automation cell, the motor pairs with a digital drive and converts electrical commands into mechanical rotation for indexing tables, linear stages, or articulated tooling in packaging, electronics assembly, and light material-handling systems.
Its mounting interface has a 75 mm flange size, allowing direct attachment to compact gearheads or IEC adapters without extra plates. Motion is transmitted through a smooth shaft, eliminating keyway-induced stress and supporting clamp or compression couplings. Position data is supplied by an integrated encoder in the rear housing, so the drive can close the velocity and position loops at high resolution. The stator has a medium-speed winding that balances continuous torque output against thermal rise for midrange duty cycles. External mechanisms must be used for stop-and-hold applications because the motor is delivered without a holding brake.
The motor can operate at ambient temperatures from +5 to +40 °C, and its electronics are conformally coated to tolerate up to 95% relative humidity without condensation. Multi-axis machines benefit from the multi-turn feedback capability, which tracks absolute position over multiple revolutions and removes the need for homing sequences after power cycles. The internal rotor-stator stack uses the standard length design, providing a balanced aspect ratio that fits space-constrained installations while maintaining thermal capacity. As a brushless servo motor, the device uses electronically commutated windings to deliver smooth motion while eliminating brush wear during continuous-duty service.
