Product Description:
The PRD-MZ10R00z-0S is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the CD Servostar CD Drives series. Designed for closed-loop motion control, the unit supplies regulated current to synchronous or induction motors and exchanges real-time command data with machine controllers, making it suitable for positioning axes in automated machinery. Its chassis mounts in a control cabinet and brings together power conversion, feedback processing, and protective logic in one enclosure.
Power enters the drive through a three-phase 230 VAC supply, and the output stage delivers a continuous motor current of 10 Arms with short-term bursts up to 20 Arms. Pulse-width modulation is generated at 8 kHz, which limits torque ripple during high-speed operation. Motion commands arrive over the SERCOS fiber-optic bus, while 14-bit differential analog inputs accept precision setpoints from external controllers. Two 12-bit analog outputs report internal variables for diagnostics. The drive sources 60 mA through its digital outputs, and a dedicated resolver interface excites the transducer at 4.25 VAC with a 2 VAC return so that rotor position is tracked even during rapid acceleration. A fault relay rated at 1 A provides a hardware signal whenever the control loop detects an abnormal state.
Thermal and supply integrity are managed by a 132 W heat-dissipation budget that must be handled by panel airflow or external heat sinking. The control electronics are backed by a separate external 24 VDC supply, allowing fieldbus communication and status reporting to remain active during mains power loss. Protective circuitry disconnects the output stage if the DC bus rises above 430 VDC or falls below 90 VDC, preventing component stress from line transients or brownouts. This separate control supply also allows the drive to preserve diagnostic information when the main power stage is unavailable.
