The PRD-B040SAIB-62 is a state-of-the-art digital servo drive built by Kollmorgen to meet the automation control needs of several industrial applications, including machine tools, packaging machines, electronic assembly, and document handling. This drive can operate with a vast range of Kollmorgen motor designs and their assorted feedback systems. It is a compact drive that features a protected power supply system; its small housing makes it perfect for installation in areas with minimum cabinet spacing. The PRD-B040SAIB-62 is equipped with its own unique software environment in Kollmorgen’s sophisticated Motion Link software for Windows devices. There is a PWM sine wave commutation technology present on this servo drive; this commutation device provides a smooth and precise low-speed control and high-speed performance for connected servo motors. The drive also features a back EMD compensator.
The PRD-B040SAIB-62 servo drive is intended to carry out both velocity control and motion control. It operates with advanced control algorithms that allow “on the fly” homing capabilities and switching between velocity and current/torque control. For the position control, the servo drive is able to carry out incremental and absolute positioning with an “in position” indicator. The drive is also able to function in dual loop mode, which is capable of positing from a load feedback device while controlling velocity and torque from the motor feedback.
The PRD-B040SAIB-62 servo drive is able to independently detect faults and immediately alert the operator using error coding.
