The LR06565-JW02 is a servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen within the CD Servostar CD Drives series. It conditions DC bus energy and command signals so that torque, velocity, and position can be applied accurately to matched low-inductance brushless motors used in packaging lines, pick-and-place axes, and material-handling cells. By combining a dedicated motion network with integrated power electronics, the unit bridges the machine controller and the motor field circuit inside an industrial automation framework.
Command information reaches the amplifier through the SynqNet deterministic Ethernet bus, allowing tight cycle synchronization with other axes. For local analog control, it accepts a reference span of ±10 VDC, while discrete functions such as enable or home are detected over a 5–24 V digital input window that tolerates standard sensor voltages. Protective signaling is handled by a relay rated at 1 A, so field contactors or alarm lamps can be driven directly when a fault occurs. The power section is built around a 300 V DC link that stores regenerated energy and feeds the PWM stage, giving the drive headroom for rapid acceleration without external braking resistors.
Current to the motor is pulse-modulated at 16 kHz, a switching rate chosen to minimize audible noise while keeping eddy-current loss under control in low-inductance windings. Under continuous duty, the output is limited to 6 A, matching the thermal rating of the module’s IGBTs and providing predictable torque constants in Kollmorgen motor tables. Control electronics stay active through an external 24 V logic supply, permitting fieldbus communication and error log retention even when the main bus is de-energized. Rotor position is resolved by a resolver interface that excites the transducer at 4.25 VAC and demodulates feedback at 8 kHz, enabling absolute shaft angle measurement without fragile optical components.
