Product Description:
The LE10702 is part of Kollmorgen’s economic Servostar CD-lite series, boasting a built-in encoder for precise monitoring and control of brushless servomotors. As a digital servo amplifier, this servo drive achieves high performance, especially in current loop applications. Since this servo drive does not employ a set of potentiometers for analog adjustment of control parameters, the LE10702 can maintain stable performance for a long time. Specifically, this unit has two main modes: digital current loop and velocity loop mode. Both control modes provide the user a method for controlling the servo speed or torque. Digital current loop makes use of the measurements of the digital sensor, whereas the velocity loop mode uses the motor encoder.
At rated operating conditions, the LE10702 can achieve a continuous output current of 7 amperes. At most, the drive can safely transmit a peak current of 18-20 A for a short period of time. To operate properly, the LE10702 must be connected to a computer where Motionlink software is installed. For most of Kollmorgen’s servostar products, Motionlink provides the user an intuitive interface to check the drive status, inputs, outputs, and protection systems. The Motionlink software also contains an extensive database for the numerous motor series manufactured by Kollmorgen.
Aside from its compact construction and powerful software, the LE10702 also employs a powerful set of fault and safety detection functions. In particular, the LE10702 can detect watchdog faults, overspeed, overcurrent, and overthermal conditions. It can also detect code-related errors, whether fatal or non-fatal. Using the variables RELAY and RELAYMODE, the LE10702 can also be used to configure the fault relay output during operation. Wake Industrial offers this well-regarded amplifier alongside a product warranty.
Frequently Asked Questions about LE10702:
Q: What serial communication is supported by the LE10702?
A: The LE10702 supports the RS232 serial communication protocol to establish data transfer with a computing unit.
Q: What type of feedback is present in the LE10702?
A: The LE10702 employs encoder feedback during operation. For Servostar CD-lite drives, the available encoders are incremental or Hall feedback.
Q: What is the maximum cable length permissible for the LE10702’s encoder connection?
A: The cable length for the LE10702’s encoder should not be greater than 50 ft or 15 meters.
Q: What operational modes are available for use in the LE10702’s OPMODE variable?
A: When the LE10702’s OPMODE variable is set to 1, the operational mode set is the analog velocity controller. When the variable is set to 3, the operational mode is an analog torque (current) controller.
Q: What types of I/O are present in the LE10702?
A: The LE10702 supports analog inputs, remote enable inputs, fault output relays, limit switches, analog outputs, and digital outputs.
