The LE03565-JW02 is a digital servo drive released by Kollmorgen within the Servostar CD Drives series. In a motion-control cabinet, it links low-inductance brushless motors to a higher-level automation controller, regulating phase current and velocity so actuators follow commanded profiles without overshoot. The unit supports rapid bus communication and precise feedback decoding for industrial automation applications such as coordinated robotic axes and high-speed pick-and-place systems. Its control architecture allows multiple drives to coordinate motion while maintaining accurate speed and position data for each connected axis.
This drive exchanges process data over the SynqNet network, allowing tightly synchronized multi-axis updates over a deterministic Ethernet layer. The output stage produces current ripple with a fundamental frequency of 32 kHz, which helps reduce audible noise and motor heating. An incremental encoder channel accepts edge rates up to 3 MHz, enabling high-line-count sensors to be read without losing resolution at elevated shaft speeds. The auxiliary encoder supply provides 5 VDC for standard TTL transducers. Internal losses from the semiconductors and regulation circuitry amount to 60 W, and the resulting heat must be accounted for when determining panel airflow. A 16 kHz PWM carrier modulates the transistor bridge to regulate current delivered to the connected motor.
Logic outputs can sink up to 600 mA, allowing them to operate solid-state relays or compatible brake releases directly. The control electronics receive power from an external 24 VDC rail, which isolates the control section from the 300 V power stage. Protective functions include an overtemperature trip at 80 °C and an overvoltage shutdown at 430 VDC. Complementary protection includes a 90 VDC undervoltage threshold and a 3 A current limit, allowing the drive to disconnect before its components experience excessive electrical stress. The housing weighs 1.61 kg and can be mounted on a DIN rail without special support brackets. This mounting arrangement helps conserve cabinet space while keeping the drive accessible for wiring and ventilation.
