The LE03565 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the CD Servostar CD Drives series. As a power stage for brushless and brushed servomotors, it modulates DC bus energy to deliver the controlled current and velocity profiles required by industrial automation axes. The drive links motion controllers to motors, converting network commands into pulse-width-modulated voltage while monitoring feedback to maintain position and torque precision on assembly lines, packaging machines, and robotic systems.
The power section is rated for 300 V DC and supplies a continuous 3 A RMS to the motor, with a 500-millisecond peak of 9 A RMS for acceleration bursts. Current is switched at 16 kHz PWM, minimizing audible noise while maintaining high control bandwidth. Two differential analog inputs accept control references in the ±10 VDC range, and an additional pair of differential RS-422 ports handles digital command or diagnostic traffic. Motion commands can also arrive over the SynqNet deterministic network, while encoder feedback closes the servo loop internally. The controller requires an external 24 VDC logic supply, supports eight general-purpose inputs, and provides four general-purpose outputs for machine interlocking.
Protective features supervise both the power bus and the drive electronics. A surge demand of up to 30 A can be tolerated without latching faults, but thermal shutdown occurs if the heat sink reaches 80 °C. Overvoltage protection activates at 430 VDC, and gating is inhibited when the bus falls below 90 VDC to prevent low-energy misfires. An overtemperature, overcurrent, or voltage event is reported through the general-purpose outputs or the RS-422 diagnostic link so plant controllers can execute a controlled stop. The eight digital inputs can receive emergency-stop or limit-switch signals to help keep motors and connected mechanisms within safe operating ranges.
