Product Description:
The CR06703-R is a compact servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and included in the CD Servostar CD Drives series. As part of the Compact Drive product family, the unit interfaces between a motion controller and a synchronous motor, converting single-phase mains power into controlled three-phase output that regulates torque, speed, and position in automated machinery. Its resolver feedback channel enables closed-loop operation, allowing the drive to sustain accurate velocity tracking in conveyor, pick-and-place, and packaging axes. This arrangement lets the higher-level controller send motion commands while the drive manages the fast electrical response needed at the motor.
For power conversion, the drive accepts a single-phase input range of 115-230 VAC, so it can be wired to standard plant utility service without requiring a three-phase source. Inside the unit, a carrier frequency of 8 kHz modulates the IGBTs, limiting current ripple seen by the motor windings. During transient moves, the amplifier can deliver a peak phase current of 18 A RMS/phase, while its continuous ratings reach an input capacity of 2.8 kW and an output capability of 2.2 kW. A fault relay rated at 1 A and 24 V provides a dry-contact signal so the host controller can react to overtemperature, overcurrent, or feedback loss events. This signal can also be used to trigger an alarm or remove a motion command when the drive detects an abnormal condition.
Normal running current is capped at 6 A, which suits medium-inertia servomotors used in indexing tables and similar axes. The command stage interprets a bipolar analog reference of ±10 V, enabling straightforward integration with PLC analog outputs. Internally, the power stage dissipates 80 W, so the ambient range of 5 to 45 °C must be maintained with cabinet airflow, and storage is allowed down to -20 °C and up to 70 °C. With a velocity bandwidth of 400 Hz, the drive supports tight speed loops, while the 24 V remote-enable line and 4.9 lb mass help simplify panel layout and external control wiring.
