The CR06560 servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen within the CD Servostar CD Drives series. Designed for cabinet installation, it conditions three-phase power and delivers precise current regulation to permanent-magnet or induction servomotors used in automated assembly cells, conveyors, and packaging stations. The unit processes velocity or torque commands through an analog interface and uses a resolver transducer for rotor position feedback, allowing the machine controller to coordinate motion with low delay. Integrated trip functions protect the power electronics during abnormal temperature or supply conditions and help prevent nuisance damage during demanding duty cycles.

The power section is rated for a continuous current of 6 A, giving the drive steady torque capability for compatible mid-frame motors. For short bursts, it can supply up to 12 Arms for two seconds or 18 Arms for 500 milliseconds, which supports quick acceleration and brief load peaks without requiring a larger unit. Current is generated with pulse-width modulation at 8 kHz, a switching rate that helps balance motor smoothness and semiconductor loading. An upstream line fuse rated at 15 A is used to clear faults before internal components are damaged, and a separate 24 VDC logic input keeps the control electronics active during mains shutdown for orderly fault handling.

The enclosure measures 163.0 mm deep, 256.0 mm high, and 83.3 mm wide, so multiple axes can be mounted side by side without consuming much panel space. Internal power loss can reach 80 W under maximum load, so forced-air ventilation is recommended to move heat away from the cabinet interior and maintain stable operation. Protective thresholds are factory set, and the drive disconnects when heat sink temperature reaches 80 °C, when bus voltage rises above 430 VDC, or when it drops below 90 VDC. These limits help reduce stress during regeneration, brownouts, or cooling problems while keeping the control section within its intended operating range.
