The unit processes resolver feedback, enabling precise position and speed loops while keeping feedback wiring simple and resistant to electrical noise commonly found in industrial settings. Because resolver signals are robust analog signals, this arrangement is useful in installations where feedback cables run near switching devices and motor leads.

The drive delivers a continuous motor phase current of 6 Arms to support sustained torque production. For brief acceleration bursts, it can provide up to 18 Arms for 500 ms, after which current folds back to thermal limits. Current foldback limits the duration of overload demand so the power stage can recover before excessive heat accumulates. Control power is supplied from a dedicated DC bus of 300 V, and IGBT switching is timed at a pulse-width modulation frequency of 8 kHz; this rate helps limit audible noise while keeping transistor losses acceptable. During normal operation, the power section dissipates 80 W of heat that must be removed by convection or panel fans, and the output form factor remains at 1.01 or less so motor heating stays lower than with square-wave drives.

Protective circuitry opens the drive when bus voltage exceeds 430 VDC or falls below 90 VDC, and a thermal sensor trips at 80 °C to help prevent component damage. These thresholds shut the drive down before abnormal supply conditions or overheating can stress the power devices. The resolver interface excites the transducer with 4.25 VAC, limits drive current to 55 mA AC RMS, and tolerates up to 120 Ω of stator resistance while maintaining the 0.47 transformation ratio needed for accurate angle reconstruction. Mechanical limits include a vibration rating of 0.5 g and a unit mass of 2.22 kg, permitting direct cabinet mounting without additional damping hardware.
