Product Description:

The CR06251-00000 is a compact servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied as part of the Servostar CD Drives series. As a member of the Compact Drive product family, this unit conditions DC power from a shared supply and modulates it for synchronous or induction motors used in industrial automation cells. It also hosts a SERCOS communication interface so machine controllers can issue motion commands and receive status information in deterministic cycles.

It operates from a nominal DC bus of 325 VDC, derived from an upstream rectifier, and delivers a continuous phase current of 6 A. For short transients, the current stage supplies 12 A RMS for two seconds and can momentarily reach 18 A RMS during half-second bursts, allowing the axis to overcome inertial loads. Pulse-width modulation operates at 8 kHz, which reduces motor noise while maintaining reasonable switching losses. Position and velocity loops are closed through resolver feedback. The resolver is energized by 4.25 VAC and has a maximum DC resistance of 120 Ω, giving the drive absolute rotor angle information without batteries. The SERCOS option is powered from a 230 V logic rail and updates every 2 ms, allowing host motion planners to adjust torque in real time.

Thermal and power protection are integrated into the unit. The control section dissipates up to 80 W as internal heat, so enclosure airflow must remove this thermal load. An overtemperature sensor disables the gate drive at 80 °C to prevent damage caused by excessive heat. DC bus monitoring trips at 430 VDC to protect against regenerated energy and at 90 VDC if a supply drop threatens logic stability. These limits protect the semiconductors when the mains supply varies or connected motors brake heavily. A die-cast housing with a mass of 2.22 kg supports panel mounting beside other Compact Drive modules without requiring heavy supports.
