The CR06250-1D062A servo drive is built by Kollmorgen for the CD Servostar CD Drives series. Classified in the manufacturer’s Compact Drive family, it pairs with DDR direct-drive rotary motors and provides closed-loop current, velocity, and position control for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and other precision automation tasks. The unit converts incoming single-phase power into regulated three-phase output and uses resolver feedback to maintain accurate electronic commutation throughout the motion profile.
Two differential analog command inputs tolerate up to 13 V, and motion starts once the reference exceeds the minimum sensitivity of 1.53 mV. The digital signal processor supports sinusoidal commutation up to 400 Hz, while the inner current loop refreshes every 62.5 µs. Velocity and position loops are processed at 250 µs and 500 µs, providing nested regulation that minimizes following error. A dry-contact fault relay rated at 1 A and 24 VDC can open external safety circuits in response to overcurrent, excessive temperature, or feedback loss. Standard hardware includes a 230 V logic input, allowing the control section to remain powered when the main contactor opens. Resolver feedback is the only supported transducer for the servo axis.
Long-term speed regulation is held within 0.01%, so machine cycle times remain consistent during temperature changes. The drive can deliver a continuous phase current of 6 A from a DC bus derived from a single-phase input of 115 VAC (160 VDC). For resolver excitation, the unit supplies 4.25 VAC; the sensor returns 2 VAC, which is scaled by a 0.47 transformation ratio. Drive electronics limit excitation to 55 mA RMS, and the resolver winding must not exceed 120 Ω of resistance to maintain clean sine-cosine signals. These electrical limits support stable position estimation and continuous commutation of DDR motors without encoder hardware.
