The CR03561-MZ is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Servostar CD Drives series. As a compact digital drive, it regulates current and velocity loops for brushless servomotors in industrial automation cells, coordinating motion axes through a SERCOS fiber-optic network. The unit converts single-phase or three-phase mains power into a modulated output for resolver-equipped motors. This design provides precise motion control and detailed diagnostic functions for automated machinery.
The power stage accepts 115/230 VAC from either single-phase or three-phase supplies, allowing installation in light- or medium-power panels without a step-down transformer. Its rectifier operates with a universal mains frequency of 50/60 Hz, and a 10 A cartridge fuse protects the supply. A 30 A surge limit manages inrush current during startup. The isolated logic circuits operate from 24 VDC, allowing fieldbus communication and parameter memory to remain active during emergency-stop conditions. During continuous motion, the current loop delivers a rated output of 3 A RMS, while the thermal model allows 60 W of internal heat dissipation through the heat sink. For short bursts, the drive can supply up to 6 A RMS for 2 seconds. A 16 kHz pulse-width modulation carrier helps keep motor torque ripple low.
Safety thresholds are integrated into the gate-drive logic. If the intermediate DC bus rises above 430 VDC, the unit shuts down to prevent excessive stress on its insulation. A supply drop to 90 VDC triggers an undervoltage fault, helping the system maintain predictable behavior during a power sag. The heat sink sensor trips at 80 °C, allowing enclosure airflow to be matched to the drive’s operating duty. During rapid indexing moves, the current limit increases to 9 A RMS for 500 milliseconds, allowing actuators to overcome static friction without requiring an oversized drive. Resolver feedback is sampled directly by the digital signal processor, which maintains accurate phase control within the compact housing.
