The CE20560 is a digital servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen and assigned to the CD Servostar CD Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency plant power into modulated, bidirectional current for brushless servo motors used in pick-and-place modules, packaging machinery, and other tightly coordinated axes. The unit integrates encoder feedback to close the velocity loop and supply precise torque in automated production lines. This closed-loop arrangement helps the drive respond quickly to load changes during synchronized motion.

It accepts a three-phase supply rated at 230 VAC, and its internal power stage can deliver a continuous motor current of 10 Arms. During rapid acceleration or shock load events, the drive supplies up to 20 Arms for short intervals. Current is processed by a digital loop that refreshes every 62.5 µs, allowing the controller to correct load disturbances before they propagate through the mechanical system. Pulse-width modulation is executed at 8 kHz, which helps reduce audible noise while limiting motor ripple. Mechanical integration is straightforward because the housing has a width of 99.1 mm, a depth of 163.0 mm, and a height of 256.0 mm, dimensions that fit shallow enclosures. The compact housing also helps when several axes must be arranged side by side in a control cabinet.

Thermal design anticipates an internal dissipation of 132 W, so adequate panel airflow must be arranged. An overtemperature circuit trips at 80 °C on the heat sink, while an overvoltage threshold of 430 VDC protects the DC bus during regenerative events; both conditions force a controlled shutdown until limits clear. Speed deviation across the full torque range is held to 0.01%, making the drive suitable for precise line-shaft replacement. Encoder loss detection is also included to prevent unstable operation if feedback is interrupted. With a mass of 2.69 kg, the chassis adds only a modest load to multi-axis cabinet assemblies.
