The CE06260 servo amplifier is produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the CD Servostar CD Drives series within the Compact Drive product family. It is a panel-mount DC bus drive intended to regulate torque and velocity of brushless servo motors in packaging machines, material-handling axes, and other automated equipment. By closing current, velocity, and position loops internally, the unit translates motion commands from a controller into precisely metered phase current, giving automated systems a compact way to energize feedback-equipped rotary stages.
The drive accepts differential encoder feedback and supports an encoder input frequency up to 3 MHz, while the internal velocity regulator maintains a closed-loop bandwidth of 400 Hz for rapid disturbance rejection. Its current loop is refreshed at 16 kHz, allowing fine pulse-width modulation resolution that pairs well with the 0.00164 F bus capacitance. A programmable analog demand channel offers 14-bit resolution, so small command steps are not lost in conversion. Thermal and magnetic limits are set by a continuous output current of 6 A. Logic functions use the standard 24 VDC input and draw 1.5 A, and the same header supplies 250 mA at 5 VDC to the attached incremental encoder.
The power stage operates from a DC link with a nominal potential of 325 VDC, stabilized by the bus capacitors and protected by a 15 A line fuse. During regenerative braking, the transistor shunts energy into an external resistor; dissipation must not fall below the 20 Ω minimum value, and the circuit engages automatically once the bus reaches 390 VDC, then disengages at 370 VDC. This automatic braking function allows the CE06260 to operate in multi-axis cabinets without an auxiliary chopper module, while the DC bus arrangement supports compact panel installation.
