The CE03706 is a servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Servostar CD Drives series. As part of the Compact Drive family, this module converts a fixed DC-link voltage into three-phase, time-modulated voltage for synchronous motors used in automated packaging lines, small assembly robots, and material-handling axes. Integrated current, velocity, and position control loops provide the closed-loop precision required for repeatable motion profiles in industrial automation. The compact design also allows the amplifier to support coordinated motion without requiring separate control hardware for each regulation loop.
The drive can deliver a continuous mechanical output of 1.1 kW, and its power stage is rated for a phase current of 3 A, allowing it to operate low-to-mid-torque servomotors. Pulse-width modulation is performed at 16 kHz, producing a smooth sinusoidal phase voltage with minimal acoustic noise. High-speed regulation is supported by a current loop that refreshes every 62.5 µs, a velocity loop that updates every 250 µs, and a position loop that closes every 500 µs. These short update intervals allow the controller to respond rapidly to disturbances and maintain accurate motion trajectories. Internal power dissipation is 60 W, and the power devices support sinusoidal commutation at frequencies up to 400 Hz to reduce torque ripple during high-speed rotation.
The overvoltage trip activates at 430 VDC, protecting the amplifier when the DC-link voltage rises beyond its permitted operating range. The undervoltage trip activates at 90 VDC, preventing continued operation when the available bus voltage is too low for reliable motor control. Thermal shutdown occurs at 80 °C to protect the internal power electronics from excessive temperature. An encoder feedback channel supplies the position and speed information required by the digital control loops. The unit weighs 1.61 kg, which supports installation in compact control cabinets where mounting space and structural loading are limited.
