The CB10560 drive is a servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen within the CD Servostar CD Drives series. Classified in the manufacturer’s Compact Drive family, it converts three-phase mains power into controlled output currents for brushless servomotors used in packaging machines, pick-and-place heads, and other automated axes. Internal current and velocity regulators execute motion commands delivered by an upstream controller, allowing precise positioning without external motion modules. The unit amplifies low-level command signals into motor power while maintaining feedback integrity for closed-loop industrial automation.
Electrical interfaces accommodate factory power and control networks. The power stage accepts a 230 VAC three-phase supply, while the control electronics are energized by an external 24 VDC source so that fieldbus and encoder circuits stay active during mains interruptions. Command inputs use analog ±10 VDC signals with 14-bit resolution, translating voltage changes directly into torque demand. A continuous output of 10 A supports normal motion, and overload events are handled by a peak capability of 20 A RMS for 2 seconds. The current loop closes at 2.5 kHz, providing a rapid torque response.
Encoder handling and interpolation features support high-resolution position feedback. The sinusoidal encoder interface accepts signals up to 1.2 MHz at the EEO input and up to 125 kHz per line on the incremental channel. It delivers 5 VDC at 250 mA for sensor power and processes sine feedback with internal interpolation up to 256 times, producing fine digital positions for microstepping moves. The connection length can reach 15 m without degrading signal quality. The velocity loop has a maximum bandwidth of 400 Hz, complementing these feedback rates and supporting smooth trajectory tracking for precise industrial motion tasks.
