It functions as a compact drive that delivers closed-loop current, velocity, and position regulation for brushless motors used in packaging stations, pick-and-place modules, and other industrial axes. By embedding real-time control hardware inside a narrow housing, the unit allows machine builders to reduce cabinet depth while retaining an analog command interface for connection to standard motion controllers. Its control architecture supports precise motor response across positioning, speed-control, and torque-control applications.
The control interface is analog, so the drive accepts demand signals through a ±10 V differential pair and digitizes the commands with a resolution of 14 bits. The input path accepts a full-scale range of ±10 V and includes protection against voltage transients. Torque is regulated by a current loop that refreshes every 62.5 µs, enabling an accurate response to high-bandwidth motion profiles. Motor excitation is generated with an 8 kHz pulse-width modulation frequency, which reduces current ripple while keeping switching losses within the internal dissipation limit of 80 W. During rapid acceleration, the power stage can deliver up to 18 A for 500 ms before returning to the continuous current level. A sine encoder feedback channel reports rotor position to the control circuits. A dedicated logic supply powers the control electronics independently of the main DC bus.
