Product Description:

The CB06251 is a compact digital servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Servostar CD Drives series. As a member of the Compact Drive family, it supplies regulated current to brushless servomotors used in industrial automation cells, pick-and-place gantries, and packaging stations. By combining a SERCOS motion bus, a sine-encoder feedback channel, and integrated power electronics, the drive closes high-bandwidth velocity and position loops while occupying only 83.3 mm in width, 163 mm in depth, and 256 mm in height.

The power section accepts a single-phase input of 230 VAC and routes it through a 15 A main line fuse before charging the internal DC link to 325 VDC. Continuous motor demand is handled with a rated output of 6 A, while short bursts of up to 18 A RMS for 500 ms accommodate rapid acceleration. Pulse-width modulation is generated at 8 kHz, limiting current ripple and acoustic noise. Logic electronics are energized from a dedicated 230 V rail. The drive includes a SERCOS interface with a 230 V logic input, allowing the axis to receive commands directly from fiber-optic network rings. The terminals and SERCOS plugs are positioned on the front panel for accessible field wiring in densely arranged control cabinets.

Diagnostic and protection circuits trip if the DC link exceeds 430 VDC, falls below 90 VDC, or if the heat sink reaches 80 °C. These thresholds protect the power electronics against excessive bus voltage, insufficient operating voltage, and thermal overload. The current regulator refreshes every 62.5 µs, providing a fast response to load changes detected through the sine-encoder feedback loop. A rigid aluminum chassis protects the internal components, while full-height mounting slots provide secure alignment during panel installation. The compact enclosure allows multiple drives to be installed side by side while maintaining access to power, feedback, and network connections.
