The CB03560 is a servo amplifier from Kollmorgen offered within the Servostar CD Drives series. As a Compact Drive module, it supplies controlled three-phase current to synchronous servomotors and monitors high-resolution feedback to close the motion loop in automated machinery. By combining power conversion with high-speed control processors, the unit fits into distributed axis architectures where precise torque, velocity, and position regulation is required. Its compact format also supports installation in control panels where multiple coordinated axes must operate within limited space.
The drive provides a continuous output current of 3 A RMS, supporting stable motor torque under nominal operating conditions. For rapid acceleration, it can deliver 9 A RMS for up to 0.5 seconds, allowing brief overloads without causing a thermal trip. The current loop has a bandwidth of 2.5 kHz and a digital update rate of 16 kHz, so commanded phase currents track their reference values with minimal delay. Velocity regulation is filtered at 400 Hz, while the velocity processor refreshes at 4,000 Hz to coordinate with the high-speed position task. These control rates allow the amplifier to respond quickly to changing motion commands and motor loads.
The position loop operates at 2,000 Hz, and the controller samples a sine encoder that accepts input tracks up to 125 kHz. The encoder provides 14-bit precision, while its interface maintains a differential signal level of 1 Vp-p. An internal sine-to-digital converter sends the resulting position count to the motion processor for closed-loop regulation. Two digital outputs supply 60 mA each, and the fault relay is rated for 1 A at 24 VDC to signal upstream control or safety circuitry. The housing measures 256.0 mm high by 67.3 mm wide and weighs 1.61 kg, allowing dense panel layouts without placing excessive load on the mounting structure.
