Product Description:

The CH061A-13-3105 Cartridge DDR unit is a frameless, permanent-magnet servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the Cartridge DDR Motors series. Designed for direct mounting to a machine base, it supplies high torque without a gearbox, allowing precise, backlash-free rotary positioning in automated indexing tables, packaging actuators, and semiconductor tools. The cartridge design integrates the stator, rotor, and an aligned bearing set in a compact assembly. A compatible servo drive provides closed-loop control for tightly synchronized motion systems.

At full excitation, the motor supplies a peak torque of 85.7 Nm while drawing 26.7 A per phase, providing the torque needed for rapid indexing. A standstill current of 9.89 A works with the ten-pole rotor to maintain smooth commutation. The torque constant of 3.40 Nm/A allows the drive to calculate load torque from the commanded current. Mechanical response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 69.4 kgcm², while static friction is only 0.266 Nm. The stator has a resistance of 1.36 Ω and an inductance of 18.1 mH, which affect current-loop behavior. Power enters through a 4 + 2-pole round connector, while a 17-pole round connector carries encoder and thermal signals.

During holding or low-speed operation, the shaft can continuously produce 33.4 Nm, supporting loads while the motor remains energized. External retention is still required when a suspended load must remain stationary after motor power is removed. Back EMF rises at 206 mV/min⁻¹, so the drive must counter the generated voltage as speed increases and manage energy returned during deceleration. The motor has a thermal time constant of 36 min, allowing its temperature to rise gradually during intermittent overloads. The assembly weighs 18.6 kg, which supports rigid installation on precision machine frames. The integrated cartridge bearings reduce the number of separate mechanical components required at the mounting location.
