The CH051A-14-3305S is a frameless direct-drive rotary motor built by Kollmorgen for the Cartridge DDR Motors series. This permanent-magnet unit fits into a pre-machined bearing cartridge, allowing the load to attach directly to the rotor without belts or gearheads. Its direct-drive arrangement reduces mechanical backlash and supports precise positioning with short settling times. The motor is suitable for indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, and other automated axes controlled by closed-loop servo systems.
The electromagnetic core produces a continuous stall torque of 11.7 Nm while drawing 4.75 A rms. Its torque constant is 2.49 Nm/A rms, which supports predictable current-to-torque conversion during steady operation. A back EMF constant of 151 V rms/kRPM helps determine drive voltage requirements and regenerative thresholds. Winding inductance is 24 mH, which helps limit current ripple with fast pulse-width modulation carriers. Copper resistance at 25 °C is 4.13 Ω and contributes to winding heat under load. With a 400 VAC supply, the motor delivers a rated power of 2259 W at 2100 rpm, while operation from 480 VAC increases rated power to 2625 W. The ten-pole rotor has 0.16 Nm of static friction, supporting accurate movement during small position corrections and low-speed operation.
Peak stall current rises to 12.8 A rms, and peak stall torque reaches 30 Nm during short overload periods. This temporary capacity supports rapid acceleration when tooling or workpieces create higher inertial demand.
