Product Description:

The BDS4A-203J-0496\102B2 is a Servo Drive manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is part of the BDS Industrial Servo Drives series. It is the perfect solution for industrial automation tasks.

The BDS4A-203J-0496\102B2 Servo Drive is designed to control brushless motors, which use electronic commutation rather than mechanical brushes and it generates a smooth sinewave signal to drive the motor, which improves efficiency and reduces noise compared to square wave driving methods. It is UL508 listed which means it complies with the UL 508 standard for industrial control equipment and ensures it meets safety requirements for electrical control circuits. It is designed to output a maximum voltage of 230V AC which is the nominal output voltage. It can continuously supply 3 amps of current per phase to the motor. It comes with a R/D converter which refers to the rotary to digital encoder and converts the motor’s rotary position into digital data. It has an 8 arc minute accuracy which means that the system can detect position with a maximum error of 8 arc minutes. It can be configured with 12-bit R/D encoders that can handle up to 14,000 RPM.

The BDS4A-203J-0496\102B2 Servo Drive has a compensation designator which refers to the system's ability to compensate for various motor dynamics and load conditions in the range 0 - 5 X Jm. The module DC bus (the voltage supply feeding the inverter) operates between 250V and 360V DC which is the input voltage range for the internal electronics of the amplifier. It can provide 3A per phase when cooled by natural convection (air cooling) and it is rated for an ambient temperature of 45°C.
