Product Description:
The AKM2G-63M-ANCNAB10 is a servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. It converts drive-generated current into controlled mechanical rotation for positioning tasks on gantries, packaging axes, and similar automated equipment. A smooth 32 mm shaft connects to gearboxes or couplings, while an IEC flange with accuracy class N provides straightforward mechanical alignment with machine frames. Because the unit is supplied without a holding brake, external locking or drive torque must support static loads when the motor is stopped.
The motor sustains a continuous output of 21.4 N·m at the rated load point while drawing a steady 15.2 A RMS from the drive stage. This operating point is based on a torque constant of 1.41 N·m/A, which relates the available motor torque to the current supplied by the controller. Electrical losses are limited by a phase-to-phase copper resistance of 0.49 Ω, and the resulting heat is conducted through a thermal path of 0.393 °C/W. The winding inductance is 8.2 mH, allowing current transients to settle rapidly without excessive ripple and supporting high-bandwidth current loops. A BiSS B optical sine encoder supplies absolute position data to the drive. A PT1000 sensor monitors winding temperature so the drive can reduce performance or stop operation before the insulation temperature limit is exceeded. The permitted operating temperature range is 5 to 40 °C.
Dynamic reserve is available through a peak torque of 54.5 N·m, which can be delivered with up to 45.5 A RMS during short acceleration bursts. The dual SpeedTec M23 connectors provide IP65 protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets when properly connected. The laminated rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.0013 kg·m², supporting quick response and stable motion as the ten-pole magnetic field changes direction. The motor permits operational humidity of up to 95 percent. Its static friction torque is 0.06 N·m, and its thermal time constant is 50 minutes, allowing moderate overload cycles while helping the winding remain within its insulation limits.
