Product Description:
The AKM2G-44E-ANDNCA00 is a servo motor designed by Kollmorgen as part of the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. It converts drive current into precise rotational motion for positioning axes, indexing tables, or synchronized gantry systems that require repeatable torque delivery and closed-loop speed control in industrial automation. This operating profile supports applications where stable motion and accurate response are required during frequent starts, stops, and speed changes.
This model is built on a motor frame that measures 88 mm across the mounting face, giving it a compact footprint for machine-side installation. A flange machined to IEC accuracy class N helps maintain concentricity between the housing and the driven mechanics. Electrical terminations pass through a single htec M23 connector that is sealed to IP65, which keeps dust and low-pressure water jets away from the connection point. Inside the housing, rotor position is monitored with the SFD3 Smart Feedback Device Gen. 3, allowing high-resolution velocity and position data to pass directly to the drive without separate encoder cabling.
The motor operates in ambient temperatures from 5 to 40 °C and continues to function when surrounding air reaches 95% relative humidity, enabling use in climate-controlled packaging or printing cells. Temperature rise in the windings is tracked by a dual sensor chain that combines PT-1000 + PTC, giving the drive both analog monitoring and discrete overtemperature switching. The shaft uses a smooth shaft interface, which mates to clamp or compression couplings without keyways and helps reduce backlash in the connection. Rotor length code 4 increases stack height for higher torque density. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, which keeps rotor inertia lower in dynamic duty cycles. The unit uses the standard customization option for its baseline configuration.
