Product Description:
The AKM2G-42PLAND2GU10 servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. It provides closed-loop torque and speed control for industrial axes that require high responsiveness within a compact footprint. When paired with a compatible drive, the motor supports precise movement in material handling equipment, CNC peripherals, and automated inspection stations. Electromagnetic commutation produces continuous rotary power without the mechanical backlash associated with a gearbox, supporting applications that require repeatable positioning and rapid acceleration.
The single-cable topology terminates at a single HTEC M23 connector, reducing the amount of cabling required between the motor and drive. Its contacts are sealed to IP65, protecting signal and power connections against dust and low-pressure water jets. An integrated 24 V holding brake prevents shaft rotation when the drive is disabled, which helps secure vertical loads during a controlled stop. The stator uses an 88 mm frame that balances torque capacity with installation space. An embedded PT1000 temperature sensor monitors the windings so the drive can reduce output when temperatures approach operating limits. The permitted ambient temperature ranges from 5 to 40 °C, and rotor length code 2 establishes the active rotor length for this configuration. A smooth shaft connects directly to clamping or zero-backlash couplings without requiring a keyway.
Position feedback is provided by a capacitive HIPERFACE DSL encoder, which transmits high-resolution position data through the motor cable and eliminates the need for a separate feedback cable. The motor uses a standard P winding with electrical characteristics suited to medium DC-bus voltages. It can operate at up to 95% relative humidity, provided condensation does not form on the motor or its connections. The front mounting interface uses an IEC flange with accuracy class N, allowing alignment with compatible gearheads and machine mounting plates. This flange arrangement supports direct face mounting while maintaining the alignment required for precision couplings. The selected feedback method also provides the drive with rotor position information for electronic commutation and closed-loop motion control.
