Product Description:
The AKM2G-33PLACC22-00 servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen for the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. As a compact rotary actuator, it converts drive current from a matched amplifier into controlled shaft torque for positioning and velocity loops in automated machinery. The unit uses the series’ electromagnetic design, connects through SpeedTec connectors, and integrates a 24 V holding brake for static load retention when power is removed.
The motor produces a continuous stall torque of 3.83 N·m while the windings carry 20 Arms. For rapid acceleration, it can reach a peak stall torque of 14.6 N·m when supplied with up to 80.8 Arms; these limits help determine suitable inverter current ratings and mechanical coupling strength. The torque constant is 0.196 N·m/Arms, so controller current commands translate predictably into mechanical force. Copper losses are moderated by a DC resistance of 0.14 Ω and an inductance of 0.33 mH, which influence PWM switching frequency and thermal loading. Static friction of 0.031 N·m and viscous damping of 0.0117 N·m/kRPM affect low-speed smoothness and velocity regulation.
The motor’s back electromotive force constant is 12.7 Vrms/kRPM, a value the drive can use to estimate speed from induced voltage. Rotor dynamics are supported by an inertia of 0.00012 kg·m², allowing short index moves without excessive overshoot when paired with the commutating encoder. The permitted ambient temperature range is 5–40 °C, and operation is supported at up to 95% relative humidity. Two SpeedTec M23 connectors have an ingress protection rating of IP65. A thermal resistance of 0.795 °C/W and a 25-minute thermal time constant characterize heat flow from the windings to the frame, while PT-1000 and PTC sensors provide overtemperature detection. The 72 mm IEC flange supports accurate mounting, and the keyway shaft measures 14 mm in diameter and 30 mm in length for gearbox alignment.
