The AKM2G-23D-ACD2CA00 is a servo motor produced by Kollmorgen in the AKM2G Magnetic Motors series. As a rotary drive element, it provides closed-loop motion for industrial automation tasks that require repeatable speed and position control. The motor converts commands from a compatible servo drive into controlled rotary torque for positioning axes, conveyors, packaging machinery, and other automated equipment. Its standard configuration supports integration into machine frames designed for the AKM2G footprint.
The flange uses an IEC pattern with accuracy class N for direct alignment with compatible gearboxes, couplings, and timing-belt pulleys. A compact frame width of 58 mm helps reduce the machine envelope while maintaining the torque capacity associated with this motor size. The shaft has a keyway that provides positive mechanical engagement with a keyed coupling or pulley. Power and feedback conductors terminate at one htec M23 circular connector, reducing the number of separate cable connections required at the motor. The connector is sealed to IP65, protecting the connection point against dust and low-pressure water jets when it is properly installed. Rotor length 3 provides a longer active magnetic stack than shorter rotor options, supporting increased output within the same frame width.
Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 5 to 40 °C. The motor can operate at up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, making it suitable for indoor factory areas that experience seasonal humidity changes. A combined PT-1000 and PTC temperature-sensing system monitors winding temperature and allows the connected drive to reduce current or stop operation before excessive heat damages the motor. A 24 V holding brake secures the shaft when the drive disables motor torque, which helps prevent a stationary load from moving. Position and velocity feedback are supplied by the SFD3 Smart Feedback Device Gen. 3, providing the controller with high-resolution signals for electronic commutation and closed-loop motion control.
